I found many similarities between the characters in the film and the people I work with. Everyone has a person who thinks they know it all, a smart-ass, a cursing-machine, a so-called ladies-man, the flirt, etc. We have many instances with irritations on the job. We’ve met customers who you hate, love, mean, friendly, and always wanted to say something to them, but risked losing their jobs. Sometimes a job is all you have.

Many critics call this an immature, gross-out snore, but I call it a hilarious, gross-out reality. Maybe some of the things don’t happen in the restaurant, but we will think twice before insulting or harassing the waiter.

Waiting has a cast of young comedians who know how to have fun. Ryan Reynolds plays his usual Van Wilder style sacastic character, Anna Faris is the girl looking to help, fans of Dan Cook will love him as the cook. The rest of the cast represent parts of the “Office Space” characters. The movie definitely has its gross-out moments, but the dialogue is hilarious.

If you liked films like Van Wilder, Office Space, and American Pie, you will love this film. This will become a cult classic next to Dazed and Confused. This is a movie to watch with your friends as there are many one-liners. “Welcome to Thunderdome, b****!”

About one day in the life of a family-style restaurant, it’s employees, and the horrors that happen within the kitchen to those that may or may not deserve it, I found this movie entertaining and like how the filmmakers said in the documentary, alot like Clerks, yet not nearly as clever. Ryan Reynolds plays the exact same character he’s played in Van Wilder (and others) here and he’s got it down to a sarcastic science. Apple computer lackey Justin Long does surprisngly well here too as the “hero” of the story who realizes this day that his life is slowly wasted there. Alot of other familiar faces spring up here too, and for the gross-out scenes, yes they will teach you not to anger your waiter until AFTER you’ve eaten. Mildly amusing while not a total gut-buster, gets a whole point for the plentiful bonus features and very inventive menus.

So who’s Felix? Felix is the frog that we meet in this delightful “Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends” DVD release. Those that watched “The Prince, the Princess and the Bee” have already met Felix, but now you can have a proper introduction to him with a set of three specials from the show. This DVD combines the three specials into one full-length movie. They are “Secret Frog,” “Big Green Bug” and “Be Good to Bugs… And Frogs.”

Squirt, Shimmer and Spinner are out playing at the Taddy Puddle, fantasizing about monsters. They discover Felix and are afraid at first, because Felix is a frog and generally, frogs eat bugs. They discover that Felix is prone to getting his tongue tied around things because he has bad aims. But he doesn’t eat frogs and is happy to be their friend, because he doesn’t really fit in with other frogs. The kids soon have lots of fun playing with Felix, but are disturbed when Spiderus (in one of the late, great Tony Jay’s final vocal performances) starts an anti-frog squad.

“A Froggy Day in Sunny Patch” carries the same philosophy found in other releases in the series and known and loved by fans of the series — be kind to others and you’ll probably receive kindness in return. The CGI animation sparkles as always. Felix is a nice addition to the series and the stories include both great action and tender moments. No “Miss Spider” fan should miss this DVD.

My girls got this DVD along with another Miss Spider DVD (the prince, the princess & the pea). They much preferred the other DVD & lost interest in this before the DVD was finished.

The behavior of the people in this movie is just not believable.

I typically love these kind of movies, where the main character is set up to experience a life-or-death situation that causes true growth (like Sara Connor in the first Terminator movie). But it ends up being a lot of aimless running around in the woods made to set up situations where Basinger can kill her pursuers with items found in the toolbox from her car.

There are moments where she does even not try to get away — instead she continues to hang around near her pursuers and listen to their conversations. There are other places where she’s so clumsy and noisy it’s ridiculous. And the scene where she actually starts seducing one of the boys is laughable. Basinger has always been one of my least favorites actresses, but even Meryl Streep couldn’t have made this work…

Buy,Download, Or Stream While She Was Out! Click Here

Not until the final scene does she show signs of turning into someone different than the lame, superficial, brow-beaten housewife she started out as, and as satisfying as that is, it wasn’t worth watching the whole movie to get there.

Someone I respect greatly recommended this film. No more film recommendations from this person. The credits go on entirely too long, in part because there are 20 or so executive producers, Kim Basinger and Benicio Del Toro included. Del Toro’s a weak enough actor, but this movie proves he has even less talent for the production end.

Basinger plays a beaten-down housewife to an abusive husband (Sheffer), who ticks off a local gang (of four–a popular bunch) in a mall parking lot. After they murder the security guard who attempts to help her, they chase her in order to rape and murder her. Thus begins a formulaic and unrealistic chase and “beaten down woman realizes her power” story. Other than the methods she uses to kill the punks, everything is predictable, including the ending.

Even with all that, there are some idiotic things that still nagged at me:

1) Basinger’s character uses items from her car’s toolbox to kill the punks. Despite taking more and more things from it, it never rattles and gives away her position. Her gasping, freezing in place, shrieking, and urinating do more to give her away.

2) The movie’s set on Christmas Eve, but during most of the forest sequences, nobody’s breath steams.

3) This movie contains a double cliche: the too-intelligent multiracial gang. The gang is PC to the nth degree with one Caucasian, one African-American (-Canadian?), one Hispanic, and one Vietnamese. Gangs form out of common factors, race being the most obvious–can we please have a realistic bunch of punks on film? They also don’t use words like “incendiary” or look wistful when talking about “seeing the ocean just once.”

If you want to see a good crime story with Lukas Haas, either get “Witness” or “Brick.”

`Hairspray’ is a non-stop, exhilarating song and dance extravaganza. This exuberant remake of the John Waters’ musical is funny, fast, and fabulous. Adam Shankman’s direction is appropriately lilting in the right measure, but balanced with social commentary highlights. Unlike ‘Dreamgirls,’ there are no Oscar worthy performances, but the production is so fun there doesn’t have to be. The entertainment is winning on every level, and, as for the songs, it never goes limp.

Once again we are transported to the early sixties in Baltimore, where flannel is uniform, Blacks and Whites are segregated, and beehives are in fashion. The plot is fairly simple: Overweight teen Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) wants to break the mold on her favorite TV program “The Corny Collins Show” (an “American Bandstand”-like feature) while discovering a more urgent need to end segregation on a show that only sometimes features “Negro Night”. She gets her big break when teen singing sensation, Link Larkin (Zac Efron) makes advances that bring her to the stage floor. In the meantime, her success is challenged by the show’s program manager, (played with overbearing skill by Michelle Pfeiffer) and her daughter, Amber, the show’s reigning “Miss Teenage Hairspray,” a nasty nemesis . Joining forces with her Afro-American friends, especially Motormouth Maybelle (Queen Latifah) and dancer Seaweed (Elijah Kelly), she works for equal time on the dance floor.

`Hairspray’ is set as perfect entertainment. John Travolta provides likable loopiness as Nikki’s mother while he dances and cross-dresses his way into our hearts. The villains are nasty enough, and the sweetness pervades even amongst important demonstrations on key social issues. When it all comes down to balance, ‘Hairspray’ fills the bill.

I’ve always enjoyed “Cruising”, Billy Friedkin’s opus on violence, male homosexuality, leather and all things bizarre. Right from that great line, “Have you ever been porked?” between stars Paul Sorvino and a fresh-faced Al Pacino, this film draws me in like few others.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cruising! Click Here

While the police action and the chase mystery are interesting, what I enjoy most about this film is Pacino’s transformation from all-American boy cop to undercover cop to feigning homosexuality in the leather underground of New York and the changes he goes through to get there. The script suggests he and girlfriend Karen Allen lose their love life in the process; how could they not? Try chaning your sexual orientation sometime for the focus of your job.

The scene between investigative chieftain Sorvino and his boss, who makes it clear to Paul that he either catches the killer by the time of the upcoming 1980 political convention or “I’ll put someone in your seat who can do just that” adds an element or reality to the film, which straddles the line between fantasy and reality much of the time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cruising! Click Here

After being given the ultimatum, Sorvino turns up the heat on his undercover cop turning gay man, Pacino. In a touching and dramatic scene, Sorvino not only turns down Pacino’s request to be released from the case, he hands him potential new leads and in effect says, “Catch this guy.”

So, for me, this film is full of human realities and conflicts that make it a great film. This transcends the somewhat mundane material — the norish police drama focused on catching a serial killer in the gay leather underground — that makes it a compelling film about people and situations and how the two come together in art.

One thing I’ve never understood — the ending. All seems well afterward, but is it? Does the tug in the harbor signal some rumbling beneath the surface? Or does this signal a return to normalcy for everyone. This is the kind of emotion Friedkin generated in all his films. Since no sequel was produced, I may go to my grave wondering about this. If so, I’ll be pleased to watch this film another half-dozen or dozen times trying to piece this together.

The CRUISING (DELUXE EDITITON) dvd has restored the movie and soundtrack, but doesn’t add anything new. According to the film’s director, William Friedkin, over 40-minutes of additional footage was cut from the original movie and has since disappeared. And though he would have liked to include the 40+-minutes on this dvd, Friedkin says that he feels that the movie is complete as is.

For those who aren’t familiar with this movie, it’s about a New York city cop (Pacino) who goes undercover in the S&M(Sado-masochism)/Leather subculture of the gay community looking for a serial killer who’s targeting gay men. Even though he’s a rookie, the cop is chosen for this assignment because he looks like most of the victims. The film is a gritty whodunnit and exposes an aspect of gay life that most will never see, and raises more questions than it answers. It can be very confusing at times and you never really know if the actual killer is caught; if the guy caught is the actual killer or if there’s more than one.

For those who are familiar with CRUISING, I just like to say that the porn frames are still in it. I thought that they would take them out because of the dvd transfer, but they didn’t, which is good. The film looks sharp and there are some graphic enhancements that I don’t remember being on the original video, but it doesn’t take away anything from the movie.

***Bonus Material***

***Friedkin’s commentary

***Two featurettes that total about 45-minutes and include interviews with some of the actors from “Cruising,” along with Friedkin (Pacino is not on it), which also talks about the controversy and backlash from the gay commmunity

Update: August 15:

- My con I listed below about the buggy firmware (2.7)… it’s VERY buggy. The nuvi “forgets” my settings such as vehicle icon, map detail display level, time format whenever I plug my nuvi into my PC (to transfer waypoints and such). Still keeping the unit but looking forward to an update REAL SOON…hopefully.

I’ve owned many Garmin units over the years (GPS V, eMap, nuvi 350, 265W, 750, 755, tried 1260T, 1350). I decided to upgrade to the 1490T because of the larger screen and thinner form factor.

Just some observations:

Pros:

- The display is 5 in diagonal, that may not seem much bigger than the 4.3 but it is. The resolution is the same as the 4.3 wide-screens units but the extra space is well worth it and noticeable! It also makes it easy to hit the right button on the touch screen.

- User interface has received some minor updates, mostly in the cosmetic department. The font is new and contributes to a refined feel, everything is “smoothed” and looks very good. It’s also VERY responsive and doesn’t feel like it’s lagging.

- I like the new menu organization, they didn’t bury as many of the options and settings in sub-folders.

- You can change the map display so that the data fields are stacked along the right side as opposed to being in the corners. I like this view a lot. With this stacked view, you can see 4 data fields (3 are customizable) versus the two in the normal corner view.

- The unit is about half an inch thick, it’s very easy to carry around, even pocket-able in a pinch.

- (updated) The speaker on this unit is MUCH better than on my 755, 1260, 1350; perhaps they had room to add a larger speaker. The spoken directions sound not only louder but fuller and do not distort at high volume.

Cons:

- The mounting cradle is a two-step/two-handed affair, unplug the mini-USB then unmount from the two point cradle. The older, better quality cradle is literally one click grab and go from a nice powered cradle. Don’t know why they removed that (cost savings?).

- A common complaint: less detail shown on maps. The newer nuvi’s show fewer street names at the same zoom level as the older units. The argument being this reduces clutter. I’m not happy with it, but it’s not a deal breaker. Garmin has added alot of other information to the map display and I can understand they don’t want to overwhelm the user with text.

- The latest firmware is 2.7 and it seems to be quite buggy. Issues with Bluetooth, saving favorites, thats all I’ve experienced.

- Note, this comes with version 2010.10 maps. Garmin just released version 2010.20 maps. You only get one free upgrade.

- Very expensive…

I am planning on replacing my 755T with the 1490T. The larger screen size is just so overwhelmingly impressive it outweighs the cons in my book. If you’re not into that type of stuff then the 1490T is probably not for you.

Final Update:

After some frustration returned it:

1) You drive on a state highway for miles with detailed view, you only see a web of road networks with little to no text (no cross roads marked, no poi etc). Compare with 660 where it was fun to use the GPS. I asked myself do I need a 5 inch screen @499 to just view this ? NO!!

2)GOt impression software has been rushed out to meet deadline. Eg. Keyboard style not remebered, they tried to fix it on a update which is BTW available already out a product release at the start fo the month, but still messed up. Now on ‘ABCD’ style it remembers but defaults to number view when entering street names so need more key presses to get ‘letters’. This indicates to me probably pure management of sofwtare testing vs requirements at Garmin. I am sure this will get fixed eventually but I have formed a poor impression on newer garmins. Too many with big price variatiations, but minor differences..

3) New graphics style- They have managed to make the same information on same size screen (I tried the 765, exact same software as 1490t) looks smaller with new menu button right in the middle of the main navigation route. To see what I mean go to for eg: [...] and check the image of the 660 and then any of the newer ones like the 765.

Garmin- If things are not broken dont try to fix! What was broken was inability to sort alphabetically. Good new features were lane assist & integrated antenna & multi point routing. What needs fixing is better traffic updates. I am afraid the 300/600 series may become the classic garmin that made the company the market leader at one time!!

Well thats my review, hopefully by the time others buy they would have updated the sofwtare to fix some of the issues so maybe should check later reveiwe!

=======================

Original review:

My NUI 660 was stolen 3 weeks ago so waited till end of this month for this as thats when it became available..

My first impressions are not all that positive, that I have got a RMA and wondering if I should buy the 765 ($200 cheaper) or a tom tom or some thing else.

Basically the 5 inch screen is nice, and compared to 660 ability for multi point routing is good. Although the later seems not that efficent at routing, if any one lives in Boston and drive to South NJ, will know the importance to avoid GW bridge and go on Tapanezee. I tried inserting tapenzee as a way point, but incredibly it calculated to TPZ then drove back via 87s back to GW, instead of a more logical and shorter Garden State Parkway.

The junction view poped up briefly when driving on mass pike and approaching 128 but seems just a flashy feature because when I was actually got close it never showed up. I just happend to glance and was lucky to spot it the brief moment it poped up.

My main complaints is compared to 660 experience or in general

More Update: Unlike 660 if you make a right turn and then have to make another immediately, the 1490t does not say so before the first one. Instead as I made the right tun, accelerated but withing 400ft it says make a right. No pre warning like in 660, and I missed that turn. I am just wondering who makes design changes at Garmin!!!! That will be a deal breaker, unless tells me I am mistaken on this!!!

1) Pann-ing map is almost impossible, it is jerky than scrolls more than you want. Huge problem..

2) Even in detailed map it does not label some points of interst or local river/lake names anymore as you are driving. That was a nice feature so consider it as step back from 660.

3) Autorouting is slower but probably can live with it. Nice if the upgrades went the other way though!! Same with map drawing..

4) Annoying pop up balloon on map when searching for address. Why, why?? Cant see the map anyway with baloon

5) Commercials for bes western and others annoying. I think just shows up when idling though, not sure

6) Traffic allert wiltl sometimes say traffic ahead but never came across and the map does not high light where it is. Traffic feature as in 660 have low confidence it will help daily travel, at least its free now..

7) High Time Garmin fixes their search method, same issue with 660. For example to seacrh near.. You cannot type boston, ma. If you just type boston you will see an unsorted listing of cities of Boston and you need to scroll to find where boston ma shows up. No logical ordering. Nice if we can specify a state or zip or at least sort by distance to where you are or something better!! Imagine seraching for some more common name than boston!!

8)Jills voice is now very annoying and rough, maybe new speakers. Also I think it says re-calculating few times when doing so which can be annoying. At least ran into it once not sure if 2 recaluclate events triggered while the first one hadnot completed.

9) Keyboard style is not remembered between power cycles so might as well not have that option. nobody is going to go to tools menu to change it from qwert to abcd every time.

10)Keyboard seems more crowded and less responsive than in 660, delelte key not obvious.

11) Contact list cannot be sorted alphabetically as in 660. hasnt enough people complaint about this already for garmin not to listen???

12) At power up the display does not automatically rivert to map view if you dont do anything, instead the main menu screen which is useless to watch while driving.

Update: The display does ebentually go to map mode so this is OK..

13) Speed display seems consistantly less by 3MPH from actual speed. tested on two cars so wondering if they could not have calibrated it better as it seems systematic..

14) No MP3 or Audio Books or FM transmitter or line out (I can live without so not big for me, line out would have been nice to hook up with your car audio)

Improvements

1) Bigger screen, but less glossy

2)No anntenna on the back, beautiful exterior design, looks more sturdy

3) Power attaches to unit not base holder. Have mixed view on this. May be good if travelling no need to take the base holder with you

4) More customizable options, menu labeling is better, i.e not everything is hidden under food and lodging anymore

5) speed limit indication is good, and seems accurate even as the limits changes on the same road. Impressive, at least around boston so far!

Overall dont see anything major to get excited about vs 660. 765 seems to have the same features minus the 5inch screen and $200 cheaper, so may consider that or studying other tom tom too. Wish Garmin will spend more resources on address sorting, seraching etc than adding flashy features as upgrades.

Received the 1490T around September 10, 2009. I am replacing a Garmin nuvi 680(cost $800) which is a good unit but becoming dated. I also have a Zumo 550 for my motorcycle. I absolutely love the large screen of the nuvi 1490T(cost $405). It is by far the best GPS screen I have ever used, both for size and clarity. As my eyes get a little older the slightly larger type helps immensely. I am not sure what all the complaints and fuss is about from some of the other reviewers. When I received the unit I immediately went to Garmin’s Webloader and updated the firmware. Then, I updated to the latest 2010 maps since Garmin gives you 1 free update in the first 60 days. I like this gps even better than my nuvi 680 or the Zumo 550 for that matter. The unit has lane assist and junction view which you will love if you live in a big city like I do. The traffic service is free and is as good as or better than MSN Direct that I have on the nuvi 680. And, of course the service is free. There is a small ad that appears in exchange for the free traffic service but the ad is tiny and inconsequential because it disappears when you change the screen. Route planning is a huge bonus. The 680 did not have route planning. The 1490T shows the speed limit of the road you are on and more data is available on the screen than was on my 680. The screen is bright and they have improved the volume immensely. I use it on 50% volume. The 680 I had to use on 100% volume. Must be a bigger speaker or something–or maybe even 2 speakers. The unit is thinner than the other nuvi’s and pretty light also. Garmin did not include a cover/sleeve with this unit like they did with the 680. The only negative I can think of is that the power cord is slightly thicker than the 680’s cord and the power cord plugs into the unit rather than the cradle. This is a small hassle because you have to unplug the cord from the unit when you want to take it off the windshield and hide it in it’s case on the floor(which I always do when I park in public). Overall, I gave the 1490T 5 stars. For $400 it is a very very good value. It’s a much better unit than my $800 nuvi 680 since it has more and updated features. I think this is the best automobile unit Garmin makes right now. I love it.

I have owned Dells for the past 10 years and have never had one issue with any of their machines. This laptop is no exception. I would recommend the laptop for the average user who isn’t a big gamer and isn’t working on memory-intensive High Def video editing.

I’ve had a Dell Inspiron for a little over a year, and it’s been a constant problem. Multiple home visits to replace parts, technicians that have come to fix the machine and end up breaking it; calls to Indian customer service that route me to non-working telephone numbers; any requests to talk to a manager result in being cut-off. The machine has been down for probably a month in the past 12 months. An incredibly poor level of support and hardware.

I own two Milwaukee corded sawzalls and their main use is for heavy demolition. We have five sawzalls (all Milwaukee) within our crew all together and they’re all handled pretty roughly, yet they last though whatever you throw at them. I was pretty uneasy about the idea of a cordless sawzall back when the 18v was the most powerful cordless available… I doubted it could ever keep up with a corded sawzall.

When Milwaukee came out with their V28 line, I purchased the hammer drill and was outright shocked at how much more powerful it was then the 18v I had. After a month of use, I decided the pick up the V28 sawzall too. The very first day, I knew I had a winner. Although when cutting out old, extra-thick studs, you can feel a difference in power between the corded and cordless, the V28 sawzall definitely held its own and didn’t lock up once. Just before lunch, I was cutting through a pipe and the sawzall seemed to suddenly die. At first, I thought I broke the thing, but quickly realized that the battery charge ran out. When they say that the power lasts until the very last minute, they REALLY mean it.

Another thing I love about the V28 line is the battery charge meter. I find it very useful to be able to take a quick look and find which of my batteries could use a charge, rather then finding out when you need them. It’s a feature I’m finding more and more useful.

The only disappointment is the case that comes with the kit… it’ll hold a third battery if you were to purchase one, but it doesn’t have enough room between everything to hold extra blades. The compartment they have in the case is about half the size of the one in the corded sawzall case I have, so I can carry less blades. I wish they would go back to the metal cases, but since that’s unlikely, all I can hope for is that they’ll work more room into the cases for extra accessories.

The sawzall is one of my most used tools, particularly when first starting a job when demolition is most needed. Being free from the cord outshines the power difference that the corded models have over the V28 sawzall. Although I won’t be getting rid of my corded sawzalls yet, the V28 certainly is, and will continue to be, my top choice. I think Milwaukee finally got them to the point where their shortcomings will be completely overlooked and a cordless sawzall will be as common as the cordless drill.

UPDATE: I’ve been using this on the job for well over a year now and it has seated itself as one of the most important tools on site. Unless a second sawzall is needed, the corded sawzalls aren’t even unloaded from the trucks anymore. It has more then enough power to tackle ANY job we’ve needed it for… only slightly outpowered by the 11-amp models, but clearly more powerful then the 6-amp models. The fact that we can move around without being tethered down by a cord has made this everyone’s favorite.

It’s absorbed drops from as high as 10 feet onto plywood flooring without skipping a beat, and there’s been no noticeable decline in performance from the batteries (comparing them to a battery I just recently bought). I still don’t like the case though.

I highly recommend this tool to anyone needing a sawzall for professional use.

Milwaukee 0719-22 V28 Sawzall Lithium-Ion Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit

My advice is to consider buying this Sawzall as part of the Milwaukee 0928-29 V28 Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit. For $200 more, you’ll get the V28 Hammer Drill/Driver, the V28 circular saw, and the V28 flashlight. All are excellent and designed for day-in day-out contractor use.

Cons:

- Milwaukee should incorporate a rotating handle that locks in the normal position, 90 degrees left, or 90 degrees right (similar to the handle on the SuperHawg drill); or, better yet, have a variable angle head like the Porter Cable Tiger Claw.

Pros:

- 28 volt Lithium-Ion batteries; the highest voltage available, and longest lasting, batteries; 3rd generation technology. The only reason to buy a 1st generation NiCad tool is, you can’t afford NiMH or Lithium-Ion. Either one is far superior to NiCad.

- V28 power. This is my 3rd reciprocating saw, and the one I use most of the time. It’s not as powerful as my 11.5 amp Porter Cable saw, but it handles most house renovation tasks. Not having a cord is, of course, the huge plus of this tool.

- Press a button on a V28 battery and 1 to 4 LEDs will shine, indicating remaining power. You’ll know if it needs a charge BEFORE climbing the ladder, etc.

- Excellent ergonomics; comfortable handle and rubberized front grip, good switch function. Battery is NOT reversible, in spite of the Amazon sales pitch, but it really doesn’t need to be.

- Quick and easy tool-less blade change. Takes about 1 second to remove or insert a blade. It’s so easy, I remove the blade when transporting the saw or putting it in a tool case.

- Speed switch has all the choices needed: LOW, Lock, HIGH. Lock disables the ON switch. I use lock when removing the battery, changing the blade, or just carrying the saw with a blade installed.

- This is a terrific saw for tree or heavy brush pruning. With the 9″ Milwaukee pruning blade (or a 12″ wood blade), you can cut down decent-sized trees. Corded saws can be dangerous on such jobs, as the cords get in the way, get tangled in brush, or can trip you up; besides, the further a job is from a 110v receptacle, the more impractical a cord becomes.

- Tool is guaranteed for 5 years, parts and labor. (Register online at Milwaukee dot com.) Batteries are guaranteed for 2 years at full replacement, and prorated for 3 more years.

Summary:

I have to agree with Fine Woodworking’s 2008 Tool Guide, which calls Milwaukee’s cordless line-up, “the best tools for serious work”.

I own 4 cordless recip saws and hands down by far this is the most powerful. Not only does the battery last a long time but the dual speed makes it work in all applications. Hands down this is the best!

After receiving ASUS UL50AG-A1 I booted it up which proved to be quite easy. The keyboard took a little getting

used to since the keys are very close together and appear to be too far to the left. The computer would often shut down in the middle of a task to install updates which was very frustrating. Another problem I encountered: I was preparing a Power Point presentation and when I tried to made corrections to the text, it would insert a Chinese translation for my text even though I did not request that. All my efforts to remove the Chinese translation proved futile so I ended up re-doing the presentation with the corrections. I have not tested the battery life to see if it lives up to the 11 hour limit but it seems to last a long time while unplugged and I have had no problems with the battery.

I am still undecided whether I will keep it - I need to see if I can get some of the kinks out of it.

I have the 22 inch version of this model line (Samsung LN-22A330) for my bedroom, and am VERY impressed. The picture quality is fantastic, and it has settings where you can fine tune the settings for individual channels.

I have it on every morning for the news while I’m getting ready for work, and every night as I wind down and fall asleep (very appreciative of the person who first installed sleep timers on TVs).

I like everything about this unit, including the “tools” function on the remote for the most-used items in my house (including the sleep functions). There are “fun” settings, too…where you can choose not only your energy savings level, but also what type of image you’re watching…a “movie” versus reg tv….it deepens the color beautifully without actually changing the colors.

The only item I find disconcerting is the sheer amount of time it takes to respond to turning the unit ‘on’. Once you hit Power, just ignore it and ……………………………………………THEN you’ll hear the tones turning it on (tones may be set at different volumes and even turned off if you poke around in the menu long enough to find it).

Given time, I’ll certainly get used to the amount of time it is, but for now it’s bothersome as there is no other indicator that you actually hit the button correctly (the light on the power button on the tv doesn’t flash at first, nothing).

If I needed to replace this 22″ unit for some reason, I’d buy the same model again in a heartbeat. Very pleased with Samsung’s 330 line. Excellent value for the price for a bedroom tv.

I gave it 4 stars only because something has to be absolutely spectacular for me to give it 5 stars. Pretty much anything good that has been said about the set is true. I do have to take exception with the comments that it takes a long time to turn on. I took a stopwatch to it with the following results. From the time I pressed the power button it took 2.5 seconds for the “welcome tune” and about 9 seconds to deliver a picture. I expect that most people can live with that. I have two Sony Bravia sets that take about the same amount of time to start up. Overall, it’s a very good set and a solid value.

I bought this product after reading the prior reviews. We bought this for a large bedroom and it is a great match for the room, great picture and excellent sound quality. This arrived two days after ordering via UPS even with the savings shipping. I would buy again.
